I have been using handheld computing devices for a very long time. So, I have witnessed first-hand, what can happen to unprotected screens and how difficult screen protectors have been to apply. I remember applying my first one to a Palm PDA - I used 3 to get one to look good enough.
When I examined the New Trent Fimir Protector for the Kindle Fire, I was doubtful that the super moist wipe and polishing cloth would be enough to get a dust and bubble free fit. I have learned that the only way to get a perfect fit is to stick and remove scotch tape to the screen to elinimate every trace of dust and lint before fitting. So, I cleaned the glass of my Fire with the wipe, dried it with the cloth, peeled the plastic shield off the screen protector, aligned the edges and eased it on from the center working outward.
Today, I witnessed an evolution in screen protectors. The New Trent screen protector sits on my Fire with absolutely no bubbles, nor one spec of dust under it. The Fimir is rigid so that it doesn’t fold against itself. It has a black edge identical to the black edge around the Fire’s screen that fits perfectly making alignment much easier. The New Trent product is excellent and I would feel comfortable recommending it to anyone. I will look to New Trent for screen protectors for all of my devices rather than take a chance on another product whose claims don’t match my experience.
